Running a business isn’t easy. Small-business owners face much the same challenges as CEOs of large companies – just on a different scale – and finding the right response to each one is what separates the success stories from the if-onlys.
As a business advisor, I work mainly with SMEs as that’s where most of my experience lies. In the past 35 years, I’ve been a business owner, employee director, interim manager and non-executive director.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Cambridge, and have extensive experience of international business. I advise on general management, manufacturing, quality management, offshoring, outsourcing and project planning, and offer one-to-one coaching to a limited number of private clients.
I’ve managed start-ups, sustained growth, acquisitions, disposals and closures in sectors that include manufacturing, online, software, business services and more – with varying degrees of success. I’ve learned something from each one, and I enjoy helping entrepreneurs who might otherwise have to learn things the hard way.
